Forging a Strong Sense of Community
The GFWC Dunwoody Woman’s Club has served the community since 1971 and has grown to a membership of more than one hundred twenty dedicated volunteers.
The club was and is instrumental in developing and nurturing many features of our thriving community, including the Dunwoody Nature Center, annual July 4th Parade, Replanting Dunwoody, Spruill Center for the Arts, Stage Door Players, Community Action Center, Interfaith Outreach Home, Ronald McDonald House, and more. In addition to the many charities and programs we support, the club selects a 2-year Community Improvement Program(CIP) for special support.
Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month, September through May, in the Williams Room of the Dunwoody Library, 5339 Chamblee-Dunwoody Rd.; Dunwoody, GA 30338.

The GFWC Dunwoody Woman’s Club is an affiliate of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), the oldest and largest, non-denominational, non-partisan, international service organization of volunteer women in the world. For more than a century, members of federated women’s clubs have addressed the needs of their communities and countries through times of social change, technological revolution, war, and peace.
The club is also a member of the Georgia Federation of Women’s Clubs, and is committed to supporting the President’s projects and state programs such as Tallulah Falls Schools
The club is part of the GFWC Federation of Women’s Club North West District. The District includes the Dunwoody Club plus clubs from Acworth, Atlanta, Buchanan, Calhoun, Cartersville, Chattahoochee, Chickamauga, Cobb, Dallas, Dalton Junior, Woodstock Junior, Lafayette, Marietta, Northside, Norcross, Roswell Junior and Sandy Springs.
As a service organization of women joining together to expand our skills and apply our abilities, we promote interest and activity in education, philanthropy, civics, moral values and the fine arts.
The club is committed to six Community Service Programs: Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Outreach, Public Issues and The Arts.
Funding for our programs is provided through the annual Dunwoody Home Tour, occurring the first Wednesday in October.
Our club has a continuous record of winning awards at District, State, and National levels.
The GFWC-DWC has won the GFWC-GA Overall General Excellence Award, the organization’stop award, more times than any other club in Georgia.
The GFWC-DWC has won the GFWC-GA Conservation Award for 20+ consecutive years.
The GFWC-DWC has been recognized for all six departments and multiple committees, including the GFWC-GA Silver Cup presentation.
